JK Police Public School Jammu celebrates FIT India Week from 2nd Dec- 7th Dec. 2019. The week was inaugurated on 2nd December with a brief introduction about FIT India movement initiated by Honorable Prime Minister Sh.Narender Damodar Das Modi, it's importance and vision behind. The week comprises of various activities as per CBSE guidelines. On 3rd December students performed traditional Physical Training Drills. On 4th December Nutrition Day was celebrated. The guest lecture was organised by Dr.Sanjogita Soodan, Sports Medicine Specialist and Chief Medical Officer, Government Medical College Jammu, who highlighted the importance of fitness and nutrition in our lives. She also briefed students about ill effects of drug abuse and doping in the field of sports and life in general. She motivated students to be aware about their fitness. The activities like Salad Making and class wise board presentation on health and nutrition spread awareness. A gallery walk was arranged for the students to view the board presentations by class representatives. On 5th December students and staff participated in Aerobics on foot tapping numbers. On 6th December the middle wing enjoyed indigenous sports like Santholia, kite flying, marble and pebble games, hopscotch etc. On 7th December the event culminated with a yoga session and a guest lecture by Dr Professor Sh. Ashutosh Rana, Associate Vice President Indian Olympics Association, Hony General Secretary, J&K Olympic Association, Senior Vice President Yoga Federation of India. He advised the students to adopt fitness as their lifetime mission. He appreciated the efforts of the school to make the mission a tool to generate awareness amongst the students and exclusive infrastructure supporting the sports and fitness environment.
The Principal, Mrs Renuka Guleria, paid gratitude to worthy guest speakers for guiding the students towards the goal of FIT India. She also appreciated the students and staff for putting in efforts to make the event successful.
